Key Considerations
For Temporary Use: Double-sided tape is sufficient to secure the seams between the rolls.
For Permanent Use: Heat welding is recommended, especially for outdoor and fully exposed courts. For indoor or semi-outdoor permanent courts, double-sided tape can still be used for easier installation.
For Semi-Outdoor Installations: The use of tape for temporary applications and welding for permanent installations is ideal, depending on exposure to weather.
Why These Methods?
Double-sided tape provides a simple, quick installation for temporary setups.
Heat welding ensures a more durable and secure connection for long-term installations, particularly for outdoor environments where the flooring will face weather elements.
The video below shows a typical on-site welding process.
How to find a heat welding contractor?
You can contact a local sports flooring or construction company that installs badminton courts. These contractors are experienced in heat welding and can handle on-site welding work professionally.
